Archie LeRoy Sanrope, 78, of Osseo, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at Dove Healthcare in Osseo, under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice.
Archie was born November 9, 1938 to Archie and Lillian (Iverson) Sanrope on his grandparent’s farm in the Town of Sumner, Trempealeau County, WI. He was baptized and confirmed at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Archie attended school in Osseo and graduated from Lincoln Hill High School in 1956. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 – 1960; three of those years stationed in Germany. He was a self-taught man who worked as an electrician for seven years at Warwick Electronics in Zion, IL and spent 33 years with Johnson Wax in Racine.
Archie married Sharon Jermstad on October 11, 2003 in Osseo.
In his free time, Archie enjoyed refurbishing old cars, woodworking, leather work, reading, hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.
Archie is survived by his wife Sharon; step-daughter Michelle (Duff) Ramos of Keil; two grandchildren, Savannah Ramos and Sydney Ramos; sisters, Joanne McKay of Moorhead, MN and LaRue (Ron) Witzel of Stillwater, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
Memorial services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Terry Lorenz officiating. Burial will follow in Levis Cemetery, rural Osseo.
Friends may call at the church from 11-1 pm on Tuesday.
