Coni Johnson
Coni Lynn Johnson, age 70, returned to God on April 2, 2017. Coni was born on June 12, 1946 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Gordon and Janice (Heath) Johnson. She grew up on a farm near Osseo; attended Caswell, a one room grade school and graduated from Osseo High School in 1964. Coni attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, UW-Eau Claire and Weaver Airline Personnel School in Kansas City, MO. She was a dedicated employee of Delta Airlines for 31 years working in New Orleans, Atlanta and Milwaukee. She married Jim McLendon on July 15, 1972. She loved 4-H, riding her horse Flame and later Harley-Davidson motorcycles with Jim. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch. She was gracious and generous and loved her family.
In the midst of her suffering, Coni was sustained by her deep and abiding faith in Jesus and was comforted by the words of Isaiah 43:1-4.
Coni is survived by her siblings, Diane (Charlie) Brion, Greg (Eileen) Johnson, Mark (Lorrie) Johnson, Jeff (Mary Tronsdal) Johnson and Eric (Kas Knoll) Johnson; step-son, Tim McLendon; step-daughter-in-law, Lisa Stratton; step-granddaughters, Laurent and Victoria McLendon; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and dear friends, Sharon Pederson and Pat Herbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim McLendon; sister, Pam Holstad; step-son, Keith McLendon and mother-in-law, Pat Arboneaux.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church, south of Osseo with Pastor Gail George officiating with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
