Dan Finch

Dan Finch, 93, of Augusta, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday evening Dec. 12, 2018.
Alvin Daniel Finch, son of Thomas and Marion (Burns) Finch was born Dec. 6, 1925 in Wausau, WI. He was raised in Wausau, where he graduated from high school. Dan served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. 2 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. On Aug. 17, 1947, Dan was united in marriage to June Brunzlick at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta. The couple lived all their married life in Augusta. For 8 years, Dan owned and operated a home delivery milk route in the Augusta area before taking a maintenance position with Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Dan worked 17 years at the hospital until a disability forced his retirement.
Dan will be dearly missed by June, his loving wife of 71 years; daughter Diane and Al Johnson of Scott City, MO; son, Don and Connie Finch of Eau Claire; 4 grandchildren, Peter Schroeder and Jason Schroeder, Zachary (Dana) Finch, Sarah (Justin) Matott; 8 great grandchildren, Bethany and Maia, Jamey, Jackie and Marcus, Ewan, Issac and Lauren; brother, James Finch of St. Germaine, WI; and sister, Joan Fandre of Lockport, N.Y.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and son David Finch.
Dan will be remembered during the 10:30 a.m. services at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019. The family would like to invite relatives and friends to this service to share with them in Dan’s memory.
