Dorthey Althia Otto, 87, of Osseo, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Strum Nursing and Rehabilitation in Strum.
Dorthey was born August 11, 1929 in Waukesha to George and Emily (Kerr) Sampson.
Dorthey married Richard Otto on August 6, 1949 in Dubuque, IA. Together they lived in the Waukesha and Genesee area of southern Wisconsin until 1957 when they moved to the Osseo area.
Through the years, Dorthey had various careers including working the production line in several factories, owning the Levis Store from 1975 to 1980, being a cashier at Direct Travel Store in Osseo. In her retirement, she hosted at McDonald’s and Elderberry Restaurant in Osseo and working at the Osseo Fishing Museum.
Dorthey enjoyed doing handwork; crocheting, knitting and fabric painting. She will be remembered for delicious pies, her feistiness and her sense of humor.
Dorthey is survived by her husband Richard; daughters, Shari (Brad) Indrebo of Osseo and Sandra “Tiny” Otto of Osseo; sons, Michael Otto of Merrillan and Jason (Vern Vandeberg) Otto of Osseo; foster daughter, Audra Bruder of Augusta. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin Indrebo of Milwaukee and Jenni (Phillip) Johnson of Hayward.
Dorthey was preceded in death by her parents, twelve sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at South Beef River Lutheran Church with Rev. Linda Marlett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm, Monday at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo. Friends may also call from 12:00 pm until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.
