ELAINE EISBERNER

Elaine Thressa Eisberner, 79, formerly of Fairchild and Sunnyvale, CA, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at the home of her godson/nephew, Greg (Cna) Eisberner in Osseo, WI.  She was born September 14, 1937 to Edward and Helen (Matysik) Eisberner, the youngest of nine children.
Elaine graduated from Fairchild High School and then served three years, three months and three days in the U.S. Army.  Upon her discharge she settled in California, where she worked as an electronic lab technician her entire career for Ford Aerospace (later Loral Space Systems.)
Elaine enjoyed traveling throughout France and the United States.  Each year she would return to Wisconsin for an extended visit, often behind the wheel of a 30 foot RV.  These visits to family and friends became highlights of the summer.
Along with a few of her siblings, Elaine played an accordion by ear.  She loved that her nephew, Jim Eisberner could do the same.  Elaine liked watching the San Francisco 49ers and thoroughly enjoyed being able to attend a game with her nephew, Marcus Eisberner when they played in Seattle, WA. Elaine also liked being reminded by another nephew, Edward Eisberner, of how he got his first tractor rides on the “home place” with her as the driver.  She especially enjoyed sharing great moments laughing about the “old days” with her nieces, Kathy and Elissa.  Elaine also liked the times spent with her nephew and his wife, Chris and Tammy Eisberner and visiting the casino with nephew, Robert Eisberner and his sons.  Further, when family visited her or vice versa, Elaine loved going out to eat and usually “treated” those with her.  She enjoyed being able to attend family weddings, celebrations, and reunions.  She was so proud of her family and loved being “Aunt Elaine.”
Elaine returned to Wisconsin in 2012 to be near her family.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Henkel, who resides in South Dakota; sister-in-law, Betty Eisberner who lives in Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Everyone will miss the twinkle in her blue eyes, the way she expressed herself with the use of “Gawd,” and the look she wore whenever she would politely listen to a speaker, knowing full well she wasn’t going to do what was being said.
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where a rosary service will be recited at 4:30 p.m. followed by a reflection of Elaine’s life. Burial will be in the spring at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fairchild.
Greg and Cna want to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for making this final journey with Elaine.  We hope that each of you will one day be carried on the wings of angels to the open arms of God before the devil knows you’re gone.
