Janet Kindschy
Janet Kathleen Kindschy, 82, of Osseo, WI, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System–Oakridge in Osseo.
Janet was born April 15, 1935 in Monroe County to Wade and Caroline (Peterson) Pratt.
Janet married Willfred Kindschy on April 30, 1955 at Black River United Methodist Church in Black River Falls. Together they farmed in the Towns of Preston and Pigeon before purchasing their present farm in the Town of Hale.
Family was most important to Janet. Whether it was helping Willfred on the farm, supporting her children or smothering her grandchildren with love as only a grandmother can do. Each one of her children and grandchildren were blessed with a quilt made by her hands. She was always there with a warm hug and a quick smile. No one ever came to her without leaving happier.
Janet was a faithful member of Elk Creek Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and made quilts for missions, Caswell Homemakers and served as a 4-H leader.
Janet is survived by her husband of 62 years, Willfred; daughter Lynn (Michael) Nelson of Osseo; sons, Terry Kindschy (Cerise Staff) of Osseo, Fred (Lori) Kindschy of Hayfield, MN and Dennis (Kathryn) Kindschy of Sun Prairie; eight grandchildren, Kellen (Lindsey) Nelson, Keith (Nicole) Nelson, Kevin (Tara) Nelson, Kayla (Eric) Geske, Emily Kindschy, Nicole (Mark) Smith, Taylor (Justin) Crooks and Chelsea Bell; seven great grandchildren, Kellen, Brock, Lily, Jax, Barrett, Brecken and Everhett; and a brother Floyd Pratt of Black River Falls.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Caroline; two brothers, Everett and Lamont Pratt.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in rural Osseo. Revs. Lowell Bolstad and Terry Lorenz will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo. Friends may also call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.
