Oscar Solum

Oscar O. Solum, 62, of Abbotsford, WI, passed away on March 21, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born February 21, 1956, son of Otis and Eleanor (Rudolph) Solum in Osseo, WI.
Oscar grew up in Osseo/Fairchild and graduated from Osseo High School. He worked in Texas oil fields for a while. He worked in Wausau Homes and Cable Company in Wausau and the northern Wisconsin area. He married Helen Scoville on July 31, 1975 in Black River Falls, WI. Together they lived in various places, including Mondovi, Osseo/Fairchild, and Whitedeer, TX. They came back to Wisconsin and lived by Stanley, WI.
Oscar was a hardworker, good hearted, and loved to help people. He was very caring and always there for his wife and daughter. He had an infectious laugh and would always be smiling. He liked to hunt, travel, and buy and sell things. He especially enjoyed working on his vehicles.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Marian (Stanley Rather) Solum; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.
Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo, WI.
