RONALD L. REISSNER
Ronald L. Reissner, age 80, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Ronald Lee Reissner was born August 3, 1936 in Hayward, WI the son of Jack and Maysel (Byler) Reissner. After the death of his father, Maysel remarried Carl Nyberg who raised Ron as his own son. Ron graduated from high school in Eau Claire, WI and began work with A & P Groceries. In 1957, Ron met LaVonne Indrebo and just a few months later they were married on November 1, 1957 in Osseo, WI. Ron joined the U.S. Army and served for two years, one of those being stationed in Korea. Ron was honorably discharged and returned to work in the grocery industry until 1981 when he joined the Hayward Community School District as custodian. Ron retired from the schools in 2001. Throughout his life Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, LaVonne; three children, Laramie Reissner of Hayward, WI, Reid Reissner of Cudahy, WI, Ryan (Heather) Reissner of Westboro, WI; five grandchildren, Christopher (Martha), Blake (Laura), Taylor, Zoe, Maia; four great grandchildren, Kole, Amarianna, Evan and Matthew; one sister Allene Peterson of Shell Lake, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Carl; one brother, John Reissner; one sister, Patricia Greene; and three nephews, Gary Peterson, John and Steven Reissner.
A memorial service celebrating Ron’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at the United Methodist Church in Hayward with Pastor Cathy Hamblin officiating. A time of gathering will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Military honors will be accorded by the State of Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program. A private interment will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hayward United Methodist Church or Camp Forest Springs Scholarship Fund.
