Day of celebration highlights positive impact
Co-op Credit Union in Fall Creek celebrated International Credit Union day on Thursday, Oct. 16 with a brat fry and bake sale, where all proceeds raised went to the Fall Creek Community Cupboard.
The theme of this year’s ICU Day celebration was “Local Service, Global Good” and focused on credit unions positive impact in their communities and around the world. The ultimate goal was to raise awareness about the work credit unions are doing around the world and to give members an opportunity to get involved.
In Fall Creek, the baked goods were made and donated by CCU employees, members and community members. Combined with the free will donation from the brat fry, a grand total of $672.25 was raised for the Fall Creek Community Cupboard.
Eric Chrisinger, CEO and president of Co-op Credit Union said the people they serve in the towns surrounding their banks are their main focus of dedication.
“Co-op Credit Union is committed to the philosophy of 'people helping people,'” Chrisinger said. “As a financial cooperative, we adhere to the Cooperative Principle of Concern for the Community. The ICU Day celebration is a way we can live out these philosophies and principles and help make our communities a better place to live and work.”
