Betty Eretta Raethke Brantner

Betty Eretta Raethke Brantner (88) of Pepin, WI died Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Plum City Care Center. She was born in a farm house February 25, 1931 in Crandell, South Dakota; daughter of John and Mary (Hutchinson) Shannon. She attended country school in Oak Gulch near Crandall, SD.
On October 9, 1948 she married Roy Raethke in Bristol, SD. They moved to the Pepin area where they raised their family. Roy died in September of 1973.
After the children were through school, Betty worked as a care giver for House Calls in Menomonie, WI.
On June 22, 2004 Betty married Phil Brantner at the United Methodist Church in Pepin. Phil died in August of 2015.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, crocheting, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Joan (Bruce) Peterson of Stockholm, WI, Ronald (Tetsuko) Raethke of Warner Robins, GA, Roger Raethke of Pepin, WI, Ralph (Tami) Raethke of Pepin, WI, Joyce (John) Stewart of Stockholm, WI; twelve grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Delores Leonhardt of SD; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Hutchinson) Shannon; husbands, Roy Raethke and Phil Brantner; brothers, William and Norman Shannon.
Funeral services were held at 11: 00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Pepin, WI with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
