Bonnie LaVerle (Harschlip) Jevne

Bonnie LaVerle (Harschlip) Jevne, (age 86) of of Meridean, WI passed away to her everlasting home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 4, 2018.
Bonnie was born on March 19, 1932 in Rock Falls, WI. Her parents were LaVern Charles Harschlip and Bessie Emelia (Hysen) Harschlip. She was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Bonnie attended the Rock Falls area country schools (Clark / Thomas), then graduated from Durand High School in 1949.
Bonnie and Eldon Jevne were married, moved to Minneapolis and expanded their lifelong adventure in Crystal, MN where they raised their family. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church for over 25 years, actively supporting their ministry. Bonnie enjoyed family, grandchildren, teaching individuals the fine art of making lefse, gardening, sewing and weaving. She crafted and painted many ceramic pottery pieces; these remain precious in our home and in her memory. Bonnie also participated in women’s recreational volleyball. Bonnie and Eldon lived in Crystal until 1988, when they moved to the home farm in Meridean.
Bonnie is survived by her children Barbara Newhouse, Richard Jevne, Robin Jevne (Al), Curtis Jevne; grandchildren, Jesse (Elizabeth), Daniel (Patricia), Deborah (Jason), Diane (Nick), James; great-grandchildren, Natalie (3), Sydney (7), Masan (15); siblings Nancy Sylte (James) of Eau Claire, Charles Harschlip (Linda) of Rock Falls, Rodney Harschlip (Donna) of Nelson, and Dale Edward Harschlip of Rock Falls; brother-in-law Harold Davis of Eau Claire, all residents of WI, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LaVern and Bessie Harschlip; husband, Eldon Jevne; sister, Ann Davis.
Visitation for Bonnie’s Celebration of Life will occur at Rock Creek Lutheran Church from 1-3 pm on Friday, May 18, 2018.
