Charlotte Ann Schruth

Charlotte Ann Schruth, 78, of Pepin, WI died Monday, November 18, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. She was born May 6, 1946 in Wabasha, MN; daughter of Benjamin and Darlene (Steiner) Wald.
She grew up in the Pepin area and graduated from Pepin High School. Following high school she worked at an insurance company in Minneapolis, MN.
In November of 1966 she married James St. Aubin. They lived on the Wald family farm in Stockholm. In 1975 they welcomed their only son, Matthew. Charlotte was a stay at home mom until 1984. Charlotte and James divorced in 1985. Later she met Randy Schruth and they were married on July 11, 1987.
Charlotte worked primarily in the service industry all of her life. She worked at the Parkview Café in Pepin, then at the family business, Northern Wisconsin Manufacturing Company, before purchasing the Short Stop Café in Stockholm. After nine years Charlotte and Randy sold the café and she went to work at Dad’s Place Café and then 3rd Base Bar in Pepin where she worked until her retirement in 2018.
She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, gardening, and going up north camping.
She is survived by her husband, Randy of Pepin; son Matt (Karissa) St. Aubin of Holmen, WI; step-children, Chris Schruth of Pepin and Amber (Adam) Barner of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren, Evelyn and Elle St. Aubin, Dexter Lee Baader, Macy, Mya, and Molly Talbert; sister, Janice Cordes of Bay City. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Darlene (Steiner) Wald.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 2:00- 4:00 pm at the Pepin Lions Club in Pepin. Goodrich Funeral Home is assisting the family.
