Clarice E. Lecander

Clarice E. Lecander age 102 of Menomonie, passed away peacefully on Monday December 14, 2015 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
Clarice was born May 21, 1913 in Maiden Rock. She was the daughter of Emil Soderstrom and Hannah Anderson Soderstrom. Clarice grew up in the Maiden Rock/Pepin area. She married Vern Lecander on November 26, 1930 in Red Wing, MN. After marriage, they farmed on the Lecander home farm in Lund until 1954. In 1954 they moved to Menomonie, where Vern began a career in the real estate. In 2008, Clarice became a resident of The Neighbors of Dunn County where she remained the rest of her life.
Clarice enjoyed traveling, and spending her winters in Lakeland, FL. She loved entertaining and playing cards with family and friends.
Clarice is survived by her daughter Jean (Earl) Vance of Menomonie, her sons, Ron (Arlene) of Decorah, IA; Don (Mary) of Walton, KY; daughters-in-law, Gwendolyn Lecander of Elmwood and Barb Julson of Menomonie, 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern in 1997, three sons, Lynn, Roger and Robert, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 18, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Rev. Heather Wigdahl officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
