David A. Catura

David Arthur Catura, 74, of Plum City, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Hastings. He was born August 21, 1943 in Plum City, to Lyle and Bernice (Rice) Catura. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1961 and served in the US Marine Corps. Following his time in the military, he attended 916 Vo-Tech near Stillwater. He worked in construction for most of his life but was also employed at Treasure Island for over 19 years. David was a member of the Plum City American Legion and he enjoyed fishing at Thompson Lake, reading westerns, going to the casino, watching sporting events and spending time with his grandchildren—they meant the world to him and brought him so much enjoyment.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Kim (Butch) Gribble of Eau Claire, Wis., Kelly (Brian) Watts and Katie Neal both of Hastings, Minn.; grandchildren, Tyler (Thea) Branchfield, Jordan & Mackenzie McGuire; Carter, Lily & Cole Watts and Kaylee Catura.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou; sisters, Glenda Krings, Donna Fredrickson and Judy Finn; brothers, Garry Catura and Doug Goike and a granddaughter, Paige Watts.
A gathering and celebration of David’s life was held from 1pm to 4pm (with Military Honors at 3PM) on Sunday, January 7th at the Plum City American Legion.
