Delilah “Dee” Wolf

mwood, died peacefully with family by her side on May 31, 2017 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home, where she has lived since November 2013.
Dee was born January 19, 1927 near Downsville, WI to William and Hazel (Holmberg) Lemon. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1944 and worked at the Bank of Menomonie. Dee married Alfred Wolf on May 19, 1945 in Edenton, NC where Alfred was stationed as an ordinance man in the Navy. After Al’s discharge they made their home in Menomonie until 1949 when they moved to rural Eau Galle to the farm owned by Al’s uncle. It would be her home for the next 64 years.
Dee was an old fashioned farm wife of an earlier time. She baked, canned, and made sure there would always be enough for her growing family. This was a time when feeding a threshing crew 2 meals in a day was common. Dee’s greatest joy was having her family sit down at the big table for holidays, birthdays, and family celebrations and seeing a grandchild’s eyes light up at the sight of an Oreo cookie.
She enjoyed sewing for her kids & grandkids, baking and cooking (especially at holidays), tending her flower gardens, especially the tulips and daffodils that came up in the spring, reading books, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Dee was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. Al and Dee enjoyed taking bus trips after retiring. Her most memorable was the trip to the Carolinas where they visited the church where they were married.
Dee is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Ken) Bauer, Marion, IA; Carolyn (Steve) Mais, Whitehall, WI; sons Tom (Kathy) Eau Claire, WI; Larry (Belinda) Michigan; Dave (Jan) and Chuck (Pixie), Elmwood, WI; Mike (Muriel) Menomonie WI; Ken (Sharon) Eau Galle, WI; Jerry (Tammy) Elmwood, WI. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law: Barbara Pease, Menomonie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents, two sons Danny and Tony, four brothers Eddie and Otto Lemon and Dick and Bill Pease and two sisters-in-law Margaret Lemon and Mary Ann Pease
The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home for their loving care.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
