DENNIS JAMES MYERS
Dennis James Myers (63) of Cottage Grove, MN died Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born September 4, 1955 in Key West, FL; son of Donald and Arlene (Pollard) Myers.
He graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1973. Following graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp and served until 1977. On September 29, 1973, he married Dianne Olson in Durand, WI. Together they had four children. They later divorced. In December 1992, he married JoAn Whitlock and they later divorced.
Dennis worked as a diesel mechanic at many locations, including at Schanno Transportation for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dennis coached his children’s baseball teams. He umpired many baseball games. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.
He is survived by his children, Carrie (Dana) Kallenbach of St. Paul, MN, Kevin (Michele) Myers of Rosemount, MN; Michael (Tara) Myers of St. Paul, MN; father, Donald Myers of Arden Hills, MN; step-daughters, Amy (Brent) Wilson of Eagen, MN, Nila (Bryan) Norman of Medina, MN; grandchildren, Allan Haverkamp, Aubri Hatlen, Ivory Jordan, Gavin Jordan, Jacob Wilson, Madisen Myers, Anna Wilson, Kyle Myers, Bennett Wilson, Nadia Norman, Zoey Norman; great-grandson, Neo Jordan; siblings, Donald (Bonnie) Myers, Donna (Terry) Bath, Sue (Tim) Brown, Tammy Myers; sister-in-law, Barb Myers; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Catherine Dahir, also special friends, Tara and Tim from Amora Coffee, and all of his friends at Fish Lake Resort.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Dennis James Myers, Jr.; step-son, Andy Boll; mother, Arlene (Pollard) Myers and brother, Gary Myers.
Funeral Services were held 11:00 am Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw, WI with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery in the spring. Visitation was from 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2019 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
