Elberg enters 'not guilty' plea
An arraignment was held Monday morning in the case of the State of Wisconsin vs. Kevin Elberg.
Judge Gary Schlosstein oversaw the hearing as a reserve judge. District Attorney Jon Seifert appeared on behalf of the State, and Elberg appeared with attorney Lars Loberg.
Elberg was bound over for trial at a preliminary hearing January 13. He is charged with one count of felony battery—that on November 5, 2014, Elberg allegedly did cause great bodily harm by an act with intent to cause bodily harm to Sao Lue Vang. The charge holds a fine of up to $10,000 and/or up to six years in prison.
Elberg entered a plea of "not guilty." Judge Schlosstein noted the bond would continue as previously set.
A status conference was scheduled for March 31 at 11 a.m.
