Eva “Joyce” Hoyt
Eva “Joyce” Hoyt, age 95, of Beldenville, WI passed away February 25, 2024 at caregiver’s Carla and Brett Anderson’s home.
She was born May 12, 1928 to parents Fred and Jennie (Jensen) Kunz in Menomonie, WI. She grew up in Downsville, WI and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1946.
Joyce married her best friend Wayne at her parent’s house in Downsville, WI on January 25, 1947. Together they raised five children on their family farm in Dunnville and later moved to a farm between Elmwood and Downsville.
She was a homemaker and spent her days taking care of her children and creating a loving home. Joyce was always willing to roll up her sleeves and help on the farm wherever she needed. She was known for her beautiful vegetable gardens where there were always green beans, strawberries, and the best sweet corn you’ve ever tasted. Joyce was a great baker and would spend her free time sewing and quilting.
When Wayne and Joyce retired, they loved to go camping and fishing. They took many trips to Otter Lake in Stanley, WI, Dunnville Bottoms, Alaska, Florida and the Black Hills in South Dakota which was one of their favorite places.
Joyce was known for always keeping the house warm by burning firewood until she was 88 years old. Her family is convinced that it is what kept her going.
