Gary D. Loewenhagen

Gary D. Loewenhagen age 57, of Alma, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2017 at Mayo Health System in Red Wing, MN.
He was born on May 3, 1959 in Wabasha, MN to Martin L. and Delores (Gleiter) Loewenhagen.
Gary attended Alma Area Schools, graduating with the Alma High School Class of 1977. He furthered his education at what is now known as CVTC with an associate degree in welding. IN 1996, Gary was married to Linda Stewart a marriage that gave them one son, Steven.
Gary was employed at various companies with his last employer being Federal Mogul in Lake City where he devoted approximately 35 years.
He was a former member of the Alma Rod & Gun Club. Before his health began to deteriorate with the presence of cancer, Gary enjoyed a good hunt and was well known for his abilities of deer processing and some of the best venison sausage around. Gary will be long remembered for his love of cooking as was known as the Loewenhagen’s “family chef” at all their get-togethers. He was also an avid fan of all the sports teams that Wisconsin had to offer…Packers, Brewers and Badgers. His greatest love was for his wife, son and the rest of his family.
Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda and their son Steven; parents, Martin and Delores Loewenhagen all of Alma; siblings, Deb (Warren) Seifert of Pepin, Dean Loewenhagen of Alma, Lori Duren of Red Wing; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from both near and far.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. A private service for family will be held at a later date.
