Gary L. Hoffman

Middleton - Gary L. Hoffman, age 77, passed away after a long battle with MS on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1948, in Baraboo, the son of Gordon and Ardoth "Eula" (Kelton) Hoffman.
Gary graduated from Plum City High School in 1966. He was united in marriage to Suzanne "Suz" Hoffman on August 4, 1973. Gary was employed with the State Hygiene Lab as the head of the newborn screening program for 45 years. He also worked many years for the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens and volunteered at Way Forward in Middleton. He was an avid fisherman and member of the Capitol City Muskies.
Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Heather (Will Frishe) Hoffman; son, Ryan (Alyson) Hoffman; their children and the apple of his eye, grandchildren, Stella Hoffman and Wyatt Hoffman; brother, Gene Hoffman; and sister, Bonnie Juaire. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Greg Hoffman; and many aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at Asbury Church, 6101 University Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with Pastor Harold Zimmick presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
