Howard “Howie” Paul Martin

Howard “Howie” Paul Martin, died peacefully on April 29, 2026 at The Seasons in Plum City, WI.
Howard was born on March 11, 1945 at home on the Martin farm to Paul and Nellie (Maxwell) Martin. He was the youngest of four and the only boy, earning the nickname of Sonnyboy from his mother.
Howard attended Plummer grade school and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1963. He worked for Wagner’s body shop before he enlisted in the Navy where he served for four years before being honorably discharged.
Howard was united in marriage to Mary Jean Fedie on January 15, 1972 at St. Henry’s Parish in Eau Galle, WI. They resided in Marshfield, WI until moving back to the Martin farm in 1977 where they raised two children. Howard was a hard working farmer and he also delivered LP gas for Bauer’s Gas and Schaul’s Gas putting on many miles and meeting lots of people in the community. He also enjoyed auto body projects, he was a jack-of-all trades. Howard was also a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Arkansaw, WI.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Elaine Clark, Kathleen Ring, and Dixie (LaVern) Carothers.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 54 years; son Theodore (Tricia) Martin; daughter Ann (Jeff) Paffel; grandchildren Angus, Paisley, Max and bonus grandson Noah.
The family thanks the entire staff from The Seasons and Plum City Care Center for all the great care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Arkansaw. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow in French Cemetery.
