Howard Walter Anderson

Howard Walter Anderson (88) of Durand, WI died Friday, December 1, 2017 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand. He was born March 4, 1929 in Little Plum in the town of Frankfort; son of Walter and Annie (Walker) Anderson. He attended Little Plum School.
He married Janice Shellito. Together they had four children. They later divorced. Howard farmed on Goat Back until he retired in the late 80’s. He then drove the Pepin County Senior van for several years, taking seniors in the area to their appointments.
Howard enjoyed farming, collecting Allis Chalmers tractors, visiting with people and watching his favorite TV shows, Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal.
He is survived by his son, Robert Anderson (Debbie Hoyt) of Arkansaw, WI; daughter, Dawn Anderson (Jim Kirberger) of Blaine, MN; ten grandchildren, Ricky Anderson, Lindsay Hoyt, Eric Ahlers, Miranda Ahlers, Travis Vradenburg, Matthew Vradenburg, Janice Smith, Donald Mansmith, Marcia Ranft, Kelly Johnson; great-grand children; siblings, Marlene (Jim) Shaw, Dean Anderson, Eunice (John) Waughtal, Larry (Bev) Anderson, Lavere (Maralyn) Anderson, Virgil (Carol) Anderson; many nieces and nephews; friend, Cecelia Moore of Durand, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Bonita Mansmith-Rahn and Beverly Johnson; brother, Clarence Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI.
