Janet G. Hoff

Janet G. Hoff, 77, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire.
Janet was born on March 6, 1940, in Plum City, WI, to Clarence and Harriet (White) Kahabka. She spent her youth on a farm first in Plum City and then in “Bogus Valley”, Pepin, WI. She attended a rural school in Pepin County and graduated from Pepin High School with the Class of 1958. She then attended UW River Falls for a short time and married Gordon Hoff on September 26, 1959. They had 3 children, whom she was very proud of.
Following her divorce in 1995, Janet became involved in various volunteer/service positions, serving on Eau Claire County’s Commission on Aging, LE Phillips Senior Center Board and volunteering with Bolton Refuge House, Wisconsin Department of Tourism and Sacred Heart Hospital.
Janet enjoyed to garden, sew, raise African Violets and collect cook books.
Janet is survived by her three children, Dr. Steven (Catherine) Hoff of Windermere, FL and their children Brian, Christina (Stephan) Dixon, Eric and Madeline; daughter, Cynthia Hoff of Eau Claire and her children, Jason and Jennifer Gorton; son, Timothy (Sara) Hoff of Menasha, WI and their children, Krysta (Jeramie) Korth and Ben(Kim) Krause and their grandchildren, Alyx, AJ, Elayna and Mack. Janet is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Helmer and Barbara Cook; one brother, James Kahabka; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clarence T. Kahabka II; and one nephew, Clarence T. Kahabka III.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the memorial service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
