Janice Ruby Hince

Janice Ruby Hince, 92, of rural Pepin, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Deer Crest Senior Living in Red Wing, MN. She was born December 1, 1932 in Vasa Township, MN; daughter of August and Ruby (Mandelkow) Strusz.
On October 6, 1953 she married Arnold F. Hince in Vasa, MN. They farmed in Frankfort Township, and then later moved to their farm in Pepin Township. Arnold died April 2, 1996. Janice lived on the home farm for 60 plus years until this past July when she moved to Deer Crest Senior Living.
She was a cook at the Pepin Manor for 28 years, retiring at the age of 83. She was an active member of Sabylund Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Janice enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting. She grew strawberries and raspberries and baked cakes for weddings and graduations.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Hince, Curtis (Yvonne) Hince, Joel Hince all of Stockholm, Keith Hince of Eau Claire; daughters, Marjorie (Mike) Riley of Bay City, Karen (Colin) Graves of Red Wing, Shirley (Howard) Burr of Eau Claire, Tamara (Matt) Rollins of Hager City; 15 grandchildren;17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; grandson, Patrick Hince; daughter-in-law, Jean Hince; parents; siblings, Adeline Hove, Herbert Strusz, Iva Hauschildt, Robert Strusz, Dorothy Hanson and an infant brother and sister.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Sabylund Lutheran Church in rural Stockholm with Pastor Paul Oppedahl officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
