John Henry Scharr Sr. (Jack)

John Henry Scharr Sr. (Jack) 86, Hayward, WI passed peacefully at his home.
The son of Harold and Iva Hallock Scharr, he was born in Nelson, WI. On January 30, 1930. He married Valdena (June) Breitung on October 21, 1950. They later divorced. On April 30, 1983. He then married Glenda Bunts.
He served in the Korean war as a tank mechanic. He was a truck driver for over 42 years working for Lake Pepin Fisheries, Northern Manufacturing, and Bud Meyer Truck Lines. He retired in 1992 but often times filled in for various companies.
He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, traveling, and his Green Bay Packers. He often times could be heard saying, “My 2 favorite teams are the Packers and whoever is beating the Vikings”.
Survivors include his wife, daughters Joni Scharr Alma, Jeri Brantner (Allen) Pepin, Gwen Bries (Larry) Garnavillo, IA, sons Jody Scharr (Patty) Stockholm, John Bunts Hayward, James Scharr (Rachel) Apple Valley, MN. Sisters Janice Bechel, Cleo Bauer (Darrel) Oregon, IL, Zeldean Paskiewicz Milwaukee, Brother Ricky Scharr (Marie) Franklin,Brother-in-law Richard Meier Boscobel, sister-in-law Calleen Williams Garnavillow,Ia, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son John Henry Scharr, Jr. (Jackie), grandson Nicholas Ross Brantner, sisters Evelyn Thompson, Darlene Paskiewicz, Brother William Joseph Scharr, a niece and a nephew.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
