John Lyle Smith

John Lyle Smith of Limestone, Maine passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 27th, 2024 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
John was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 28th, 1944, a son of Lyle and Catherine (Deevy) Smith. John graduated from Durand High School and as a young man, he joined the Air Force, serving during Vietnam, retiring from the Air Force in 1984. On March 18th, 1967 John married his wife, Laura L Smith.
In his later years, John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Watching movies and playing games on the PC, just sitting outdoors enjoying the fresh air while reading his many books.
John is survived by his wife Laura L Smith and his children Wayne Smith & Significant other Lynn Fortin, Roger Smith, Barbara Pellitier, Colleen Smith & Significant other Denton Roy, John Smith & Spouse Ruby (Connie) Smith. His Grandchildren- Larry Drost, Josh Forsman, Ashley Day and Spouse Aidan Day, Breanna Pellitier, David Smith & Significant other Brianna Hale, Dean Smith, Jacob Pellietier, Alicia Fortin, Madison Smith, Dylan Smith. And many nieces, nephews and several Great Grandchildren he enjoyed watching.
John is also survived by Kenneth & Wife Mary of Eau Claire Wisconsin, Richard & Wife Joyce Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, Lyle & Wife Debbie of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, Thomas & Wife Lisa of Lumberton Texas and sisters Barbara & Late Husband Duane Meixner of Arkansaw, Wisconsin, Kathleen & George Davis of Ocean Gate, New Jersey
John was predeceased by his parents and two nieces.
