Judy Ann Antcliff (Brady)

Judy Ann Antcliff (Brady) of Brooklyn Park passed away at the age of 68 on June 22, 2015. Judy was born on July 19, 1946 to Owen & Verona Brady in Durand, WI. The fourth of five children, she was raised on a farm in rural Arkansaw and attended Plummer School, a one room school a couple of miles from her home. She attended Arkansaw High School and graduated as a salutatorian in May of 1964. During these years, she was active in the local 4-H club and also participated in school plays and played in the school band.
After graduation she moved to the Minneapolis area and worked at various office jobs. In November of 1969, she married Mark Antcliff. From this union, their daughter, Natasha Jae was born in May of 1974. Judy and Mark were divorced the next year, and Judy raised Natasha, being both mother and father to her. Judy and Tasha traveled to many places during Judy’s annual vacation.
Judy worked in offices in various places, the last being in the human resources department at Office Max where she was forced into early retirement after a lay off from the company. She made the very best of this retirement. She had always enjoyed shopping, so this gave her even more time to clothes shop! She made her annal trip to the MN State Fair, usually with her daugther Tasha, Mike and her grandsons. She also started quilting and it quickly became her favorite hobby. She volunteered her time at Guardian Angels, a long-term care facitily in Elk River as well as at the United Methodist Church in Elk River. She was very involved in the fund raising for Guardian Angels. She helped out at the local school when they needed help with serving lunches. Judy also enjoyed the theatre and held season tickets at the Lyric Arts theatre in Anoka. She continued to travel and was able to take many trips after retirement. Her favorite thing to do was attend her gradchildren’s events such as baseball games and band concerts.
Judy was diagnosed with phyllodes tumor of the breast in April of 2012. In August of 2013 she started having lower back pain. After many tests and a biopsy, she was told on September 3, 2013 that the tumor had metastasized to her sacrum. She endured aggressive chemotherapy at the Univeristy of Minnesota for 24 hours a day, six days a week. After the second round of treatment, the tests showed no signs of the cancer. She began once a month maintenance chemo and was relatively pain free until late in the year of 2014. The chemo had stopped working, and the sacrum tumor was growing, causing pain down her right leg. She had trouble walking, and moved into an assisted living place in February. Throughout her illness, she kept her sense of humor. She met many people at Traditions Assisted Living, and became close to many new friends. We love and miss her, she is now home and at peace.
Judy is survived by Daughter Natasha Baer and fiance Mike Mago, 2 grandsons, Derek and Dylan Baer, from Brooklyn Park, MN, 3 sisters, Dawn Lauer of Arkansaw, WI, Diane Masloski (Bill) of Ham Lake MN, Robin Brady (Allen Gubert) of Pittsboro NC, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Her parents, Owen and Verona Brady, brother Dale Brady, brother-in-law, Don Lauer and niece Audra Lumpkin preceded her in death.
