Morris Dean Reeser

Morris Dean Reeser, age 72, of Pepin, WI passed away September 6,2018 at his home with his wife after an 8 year battle with melanoma cancer. Dean was born in Cedar Falls, IA on September 8, 1945 to Emery and Laura (Rathman) Reeser.
Dean attended Mt. Vernon #9 Country School and later Cedar Falls Public School. In 1966 Dean was drafted in to the Army, he completed his basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After basic training he was stationed in Pleiku, Vietnam, where his duty was driving a helicopter fuel semi. Dean was honorably discharged in 1967.
In July of 1966 Dean married the love of his life Jacqueline Rice in Cedar Falls. Together they had two sons, James and Benjamin. The family resided in the Janesville, IA where Dean operated a dairy, hog, and grain farm. A few years later the family moved to Lund, WI and operated a dairy farm. After many years of dairy farming Dean sold the cows and operated two businesses, as well as grain farming.
In January of 1995 Jackie passed unexpectedly as the result of an automobile accident. Dean later sold the two businesses and moved to Pepin, WI where he did carpentry and other jobs, also driving bus for the Pepin School District.
In May of 2008 Dean married Connie Lueptow. Together they resided in Pepin until Dean’s passing.
Dean loved spending time with friends and family, enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the Pepin Bassmaster Fishing Club. Later in life his passion turned to mule deer hunting in Nebraska with his brothers-in-law. Dean also enjoyed going to auctions and buying antiques, going for his morning coffee (knowledge session), and fishing in the local bass tournaments.
Dean leaves behind his wife, Connie, his sons Jim of Stockholm, WI and Ben (Marcie Tomlinson) of Arkansaw,WI, Amber Abbott of Oakdale, MN.; stepdaughters Lisa Lueptow of Chandler, AZ, Laurie (John)Rodriguez of Mondovi, WI, Lindsey(Ryan) Jones of Gilbert, AZ, and Lacey(James Brown) Lueptow of La Crosse, WI. Grand children, Jacqueline and Chase Reeser, and Brittney and Cody Tomlinson. Step grandchildren; Bailey(Evan)Schmidtknecht, Kendra Moyer, Wyatt Mattausch, Brittany Sonsalla, Shelly Reyes Lueptow, Logan Rodriguez, Palmer Jones, and Addie and Dawson Abbott. Also by great grandchildren; Jasper and Brian Schmidtknecht, and McKenna Ellenberger. Sister in law Jeannie(Kenny) Forry, 2 nieces, and 3 nephews, and many friends in Iowa and Nebraska.
Preceding Dean in death were his parents, his wife Jackie, brother Erwin and sister in law June Reeser.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Emery, his wife Jacqueline, brother Erwin and his wife June, in laws Frank and Ada Rice, and one nephew Shane Forry.
A visitation was held at 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday September 10, 2018 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, WI and also one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00AM on Tuesday September 11 also at the funeral home.
