Neil F. Auth

Neil F. Auth, age 79, of rural Stockholm, a retired Pepin businessman, died at his home of natural causes Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was born September 20, 1938 in Arkansaw, WI, the son of Raymond and Agnes (Bauer) Auth. He graduated from Plum City High School in 1956. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959. Following his service years he attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for their electrician program. He also attended a vocational/technical school in St. Paul for refrigeration. After working in the Twin Cities for several years he established his own business, Auth Electric & Refrigeration, in Pepin in November, 1964. He retired February 1, 2001 and sold the business to two of his sons. Neil married Alice Kahabka October 13, 1962 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plum City, WI.
 He was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha, MN and a member of the Maiden Rock American Legion Post #158. He was a charter member and first president of the Pepin Lions Club. Neil was an active member of the Pepin community, serving on various civic boards and always giving a helping hand when needed. He enjoyed his hobby farm in the country and spending time with his coffee hour buddies. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
 Neil is survived by his wife, Alice Auth, Stockholm, WI; children and spouses, Tami and Rick Seipel, Belgrade, MN, Troy Auth, St. Paul, MN, Trent and LeeAnn Auth, Durand, WI, Thad and Jill Auth, Stockholm, WI, Tyson and Dan Dragolovich, Greendale, WI; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey Murphy, Wanda and Gary Evans, Barb and Bill Honeycutt, Becky and Jerry Frese; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Sharon Auth, Rich and Mary Auth; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Agnes Auth, two brothers, Robert and David Auth and brother-in-law, Don Murphy.
 A funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Father Gregory Parrott and Deacon John Hust officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Military Rites was provided by the Maiden Rock American Legion Post #158 and active members of the U.S. Navy. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Friday from 4-8pm with a prayer service at 8pm and they also called at the church one hour before the Mass. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
