Norbert B. Bauer

Norbert B. Bauer, age 88 of Durand, died Friday, July 3, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.
Norbert was born on May 8, 1932 in Durand. He was the son of Ambrose and Mae (Schuh) Bauer. Norbert grew up in the Town of Lima and attended Scared Heart Catholic School in Lima. Norbert took over as the custodian at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, including the school, convent, rectory, cemetery, grounds and bus driver. He also started farming starting small at first and grew the farm as he went. Over the years, Norbert also worked at Weiser Concrete in Maiden Rock and helped farm on the Francis Forster Dairy. Norbert married Anna Mae Martin, together they had six children and later divorced. Later in life, Norbert met Lois Forster and together they lived in the Town of Lima.
Norbert enjoyed fishing, card parties and spending time at the campsite. Most of all, Norbert enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Norbert is survived by his children; Ron (Mary Jo) of Arkansaw, Sherry (James) Shong of Chippewa Falls, Larry (Lisa) of Eau Claire, Diane (Ryan) Guerrero of Goodyear, AZ, Don (Kim) of Altoona and Marty (Melissa) of Arlington, TX, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, two sisters; Lillian (Tom) Drier of Arkansaw and Arlinda (Ron) Plumer of Lake Holcomb, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, special friend; Lois Forster, two sisters; Loretta Meixner and Rosella Pickering and four brothers; Lavern, Raymond, Bernard and Lambert Bauer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
