Patrick J. McGrath

Patrick J. McGrath, 68 of Nelson, WI, went to fly with the angels on Friday, October 23, 2020.
Patrick Joseph was born April 7, 1952, in Wabasha, MN to Daniel and Elizabeth (Kohn) McGrath. He graduated from Wabasha Kellogg High School and from Southeast Technical College, Winona. He served in the US Army for two years and was honorably discharged. In December 1978, he married Lori L. Smith.
Pat loved spending time with his family. He was an avid animal lover and loved visiting zoos with his granddaughter, Savannah. He enjoyed traveling to Europe, playing guitar, and attending rock concerts. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. He loved watching the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and the Gophers. He was very knowledgeable about sports and enjoyed talking about them. He was a great Trivial Pursuit player. Pat loved building decks around his home and sitting outside watching the birds. He also loved to complete DIY projects around the house. He retired from Federal Mogul, Lake City in 2015. He could always make you laugh. Pat is gone too soon and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Lori; son Sean McGrath, Nelson, WI; son Dillon McGrath, Lake City, MN; a granddaughter Savannah McGrath, Nelson; two sisters: Dawn McGrath and Renee McGrath, both of Onalaska, WI; a brother Mike (Lori) McGrath, Wabasha; sisters/brothers-in-law: Russell (Mary Ann) Smith, Rochester, MN; Cindy (Bruce) Denk, Nelson; Steven (Judy) Smith, Petaluma, CA; Nancy (Mike) Schubert, Eau Claire, WI; and Jill (Larry) Johnson, Winona, MN and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law: Russell and Shirley Smith, Nelson, WI.
Private family services were held.
