Robert (Bob) Warren Selvig

5, of Lake City, MN, passed away suddenly of heart issues on Friday December 17th, 2021. Bob was born October 2nd, 1966 to Curt and Violet Selvig in Hopkins, MN. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to Stockholm, WI where he grew up on 80 acres located on Lake Pepin where he loved building tree forts, playing, swimming and exploring the outdoors with family and many beloved pets.
After graduating from Pepin High School, he joined the Air Force and worked as an Aero Space Ground Equipment Mechanic. He spent time stationed in England and Germany. After the service, Bob spent 6 years as a Mold Maker for Gemini Inc. in Cannon Falls, MN., followed by 8 years as a Color Mill Technician at S. B. Foot Tanning in Red Wing, MN. After the tannery, he worked as a Machinist at Federal Mogul in Lake City, MN for 5 years. Bob then returned to school and earned his Bio Medical Electronics degree. After graduating, he worked for Stone Machinery where he traveled to many factory locations installing and repairing CNC equipment. He worked at Stone Machinery until the summer of 2020.
After returning from the service, he met and married his first wife Renee. Renee and Bob’s son Andrew was born in 1990.
In May of 2000, Bob married Charlene (Char) Stoltz. They had two daughters, Megan and Madelyn, which made their family complete. His family and 3 children meant more to him than anything else in the world. Everyone who knew Bob knew that he was a loving and gentle person. He was a loving son, brother and Dad, and loved every member of his family with all he had.
Besides spending time with family, Bob enjoyed searching for agates on the beaches along Minnesota and Wisconsin lakes. He enjoyed boating and refurbishing his boat. He was also talented at building and refinishing furniture.
He is survived by his son Andrew of North Carolina (and granddaughters Eva and Alaynah), his daughters Megan and Madelyn of Lake City, MN, and the mother of his daughters, Char Stoltz. Bob also leaves behind his beloved Mother Violet (Vi) of Eau Claire, WI, brother Ron and his wife Mona, of Bloomington, MN, sister Carol and her husband Don of Algoma, WI, and sister Cheryl and her husband Gary of Eau Claire, WI along with many nieces and nephews. He will forever be in their hearts and missed very much everyday. Bob was preceded in death by his father Curt.
Bob’s celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Lake City, MN on Sunday, January 16th from 12-4.
