Ronald Fredrick Yarrington
Ronald Fredrick Yarrington, 48, Runnells, IA, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
Ron was born April 5, 1969 to Albert and Norma Yarrington in Durand, Wisconsin.
Ron had no “stop” button. He drove a Semi for 20 yrs for UPS and loved anything with wheels and an engine, especially if it was loud. Speaking of loud he loved music and if it was too loud you were to old. Ron’s #1 priority was his family, and he always made sure they had what they needed, He also found out that the love for his grandchildren was a whole new level of love which surprised him. Family traditions were very important to him (lots of his mom’s recipes served at the table) and Man could he cook!! Grilled chicken is what he was known for, and was called "the chicken man" by his friends. When his neighbor, Jay Voss was alive, they were the best of friends and spent a lot of time together. They really thought they had the best kept lawns in Polk county, a lot of fertilizer was bought!!!
Ron had many friends, making new ones where ever he traveled. He was kind and helpful, pitching in before being asked. If he did get asked for help the word NO was not in his vocabulary. The heavens are lucky to have this man.
Survivors include his wife, Deneise L. Yarrington, sons, Cody Yarrington, & Casey (Addie Quinn)Yarrington, grandchildren, Oliver & Hailey Yarrington, mother, Norma Ellen (Stever) Yarrington, brother, Robert (Cheryl) Yarrington & family, sisters, Ada (Ron Christianson) Yarrington, Carol (Bruce) Martin & family, and the other “Mrs. Yarrington” Chloe (Jack Russell & Dachshund mix).
Preceding him in death was his father, Albert Robert Yarrington, and best friend, Jay “Bird” Voss.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 11, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at Grandview Park Funeral Home, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317. A reception followed at the funeral home with some of Ron’s famous grilled chicken.
We will lay him to rest in Wisconsin and have a celebration of life March 17, 2018 at Arkansaw United Methodist Church N6316 N Prescott St. Arkansaw WI. 54721 From 1pm to 4pm.
