Ronald Julian Charen

Ronald Julian Charen, 93, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 28, 2025. Ron was born in Hamtramck, MI, July 16, 1931 to Walter and Felicia Chrzanowski.
After high school, Ronald and his twin brother Richard joined the US Marine Corp on January 29, 1952 and served until January 28, 1955. He married Lorraine Bihunes and they had five children. They moved to Florida after retiring. Lorriane passed away January 21, 1996. Ron married Lois Langford on April 5, 1997.
Ron was a proud autoworker for 42 years with General Motors.
He is survived by wife, Lois of Sarasota; daughters Lori Malfroid, Linda (Dave) Fox, Cindy Williams; son Ronald (Grace); son-in-law Tony Jackson all of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; step daughter, Monica (James) Whitwam of Arkansaw; step-son Patrick Milliren of Durand; 2 step grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren; 1 great great step grandchild other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorriane, twin brother Richard, brother Walter; daughter Julianne Jackson, son-in-law Michael Malfroid, step-son Frank Milliren and step-great grandson Ethan Whitwam.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL at 10 am. Interment in the church rose garden following the service. A Luncheon will be held at the Oakwood Manor clubhouse after services.
The family would like to thank all of those who offered the wonderful hospice care for Ron in the last few months and memorials can be directed to Tidewell Foundation of Sarasota, FL.
