Stephen “Lars” M. Larson

Stephen “Lars” M. Larson, age 71, of Trego, WI, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at home surrounded by family.
Lars had a successful career as a loan officer for 40 years at what is best known as Farm Credit. He was an avid member of the Mondovi Conservation Club and very involved in his community. Lars was also an active board member of the Safari Club International (SCI) helping with various projects. He also loved to golf, fish, 4-wheel, and had a passion for hunting. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with family and friends. Lars was generous beyond words and always there to help anyone who needed it. He always made it a point to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves wherever he went and with whomever he was with. It never failed wherever you went, when Lars walked in you would hear someone yell, “Lars.”
Lars is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy; two daughters, Stephanie Klevgard (Chad Adams) and Lori (Corey) Hovey; and four precious grandchildren, Tanner, Taylor, and Payton Hovey and Leah Klevgard; stepmom, Gladys Larson; brother, Robert (Linda) Larson; sister, Marcia (Mitch) Cox; step brothers, Robert Evanson, Ricky Evanson, Tim Evanson, and Danny Evanson; Darin Klevgard, and other family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Melvin Larson and mother, Violet Larson-Hopf.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 3:00 with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 at Talnot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mondovi
