Thomas J. Komro
Thomas J. Komro, age 49, of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 following a courageous battle with cancer at Mayo Health System in Eau Claire with his loving family and friends by his side.
He was born on May 9, 1975 in Durand, the son of Joanne Feeney Komro and the late Ronald Philip Komro. Tom grew up on a dairy farm just outside of Rock Falls and was actively involved with helping his dad with all farm chores.
Tom attended Durand Schools, graduating from Durand High School with the Class of 1994.
Following his graduation, Tom began a long and successful career, which was unfortunately cut short due to his illness, at Menard’s Distribution Center where he was an accomplished forklift operator.
On September 6, 2008, Tom was united in marriage to Danielle S. Bader.
Tom was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed attending Eau Claire Express baseball games during the summer. He also enjoyed his summer days and nights at their campground up north.
Tom was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold who would give to others before himself. He was always the life of the party, quick to make new friends and share a story or two with those around him. Many will remember him as “Trunk Shot Tom”, “Spinner” or “Buffalo”.
One of Tom’s greatest enjoyments in his life was spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was their greatest supporter in all they did and accomplished. He had a loving heart and his soul was taken away too soon.
Tom will be dearly missed by his wife of 16 years, Danielle of Eau Claire; his mom, Joanne Komro of Eau Claire; siblings, Kristy (Scott) Baumgart of Mondovi, Jessica (Dale) Lauer of Elk Mound, Michael (Katie) Komro of Durand, Rosemary (Brent Kemple) Komro of St. Charles, MN and Becky Komro of Elk Mound; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Nicholas, Alyssa, Avery, Evan, Samantha, Logan, Avea and Adalene; parents-in-law, Lori and Dennis Lackey of Elk Mound; brother-in-law, Gregory (Briunna) Lackey; also by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald P. Komro; sisters-in-law, Alicia Bader and Amanda Locke; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Eleanor Feeney and paternal grandparents, Philip and Marian Komro.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the 4 Mile Restaurant and Bar, S5786 State Road 37, Eau Claire. A memorial service to share memories and stories of Tom will start at 3:00 PM
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed towards family wishes.
