Virgil G. Winberg

irgil George Winberg, age 82, of Pepin, WI died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Pepin Manor. He was born May 9, 1935 in Lund, WI to George and Marian (Wahlund) Winberg. He attended Box Grade School in Lund WI, and Pepin High School where he graduated in 1953. On August 11, 1956 he married Betty Erickson at Lund Mission Covenant in Lund, WI. They lived in Hager City for 40 years. He worked for Red Wing Shoe Company for 38 years until his retirement. Betty died on April 22, 1997. Virgil enjoyed going to all sporting events.
He is survived by his sister, Darlene (Melvin) Magnuson of Wabasha; Niece Michelle (Bill) Huth and their children, Brandon and Mason Huth. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marion; wife, Betty.
Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with Reverend Darren Catron officiating.
