Wilma (Olson) Hayden

Wilma (Olson) Hayden, 75, died on Friday, June 26, at the Special Care Unit of Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie, from complications of COPD.
Wilma was born on April 6, 1940, at Memorial Hospital in Stanley, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Edna (Robbins) Schauf.
Wilma graduated from high school in St. Cloud, Florida, having attended Durand, WI, high school for two years. After graduation, she attended the City College of Cosmetology in Eau Claire and earned her cosmetology license. She then became a licensed beautician and worked for many years.
She married David L. Olson Feb. 10, 1962 and they later divorced. She married Edmund Hayden in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 2003. For the past two years, Wilma has been a resident of the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood.
Wilma is survived by her children, Frank (Rosita) Slembarski of Mosinee; Beth Olson (Robert Gremmels) of Waverly, IA, Jeff (Chris) Olson, Brenda (Dennis) Ziehme and Jerold (Renee) Olson all of Menomonie. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Andy) Bartel, of Malone, and Joyce Hubbard of Stevens Point, and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edmund, and by her sister, Marlene Pool, and her brother-in-law, Alvin Pool.
Wilma enjoyed sewing and made many quilts for people over the years, and she was always cheered by the sight of beautiful flowers or a pretty bouquet.
Funeral services were at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie, with visitation from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday.
