Prayers for Patty with Candlelight Vigil

By Carol Boynton

On one of the coldest nights there was only a warmth in the air and a prayer in the midst of friends and family for their dear friend...Patty Burt.
With a wind chill of some 30 below, over 80 people walked down the street of Utica with candles burning in a vigil of prayers filled with hope, strength, and love to the home of Patty Burt.
Friends and family surrounded her home and silently prayed. Patty came out of her home with her family and she warmly embraced each and every person with a hug and kind words for coming out and supporting her through her journey.
Patty shared, “I will never ever forget the sight of all of you coming down the street with candles a glow on one of the coldest nights in support and prayerful journey for me.” She continued, “I love each and every one of you and again I say, there are definitely angels on earth and tonight they surround my home in prayer. I can never ever thank you all enough for your many well wishes and words of encouragement and prayers. I feel that power of prayer and I believe God hears them too. Thank you my praying angels for this outpouring of support.”
Melissa Fohrman, one of the organizers shared, “We love Patty and we pray for her constantly. We know God has a plan and we just want to share our love and prayers to give Patty continued strength during this battle she fights everyday. We love her and her family and we are just doing what we think are the right things to do. It doesn’t matter what faith you are...but to come out and offer prayers for Patty just feels right. This brings us all together to support her in her journey, for we never want her to feel alone. We walk this journey with her with our continued prayers.”
Carol Gohman shared, “This is just overwhelming to see all the people come together to support Patty...Just overwhelming!
In August a large fund-raiser was held at the St. Charles Fairgrounds to help with medical expenses.
