Nancy Weisenbeck

Nancy Weisenbeck, 73, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1942, in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Morey) Schirmacher.
Nancy attended and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1960. On May 13, 1961, Nancy was united in marriage to Francis Weisenbeck, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jim Falls. To this union, three children were born. Nancy and her husband ran a farm where they raised registered Holstein cattle. She was very instrumental in the success of the farm with her attention to the details. Following the sale of the farm and cattle, Nancy enrolled at Chippewa Valley Tech. College in Eau Claire, proudly graduating with a degree at the age of 50. Following her graduation from CVTC, Nancy began a career at M&I Software as a computer programmer. Even with Nancy’s busy life, she still found time to be a loving mom to her three children, along with hosting many foreign exchange students and fostering several children that today still consider her a “mom.”
Nancy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi. As Nancy’s life with MS became more and more challenging with performing physical tasks, like gardening and canning or working at a job she loved, the one thing that it never took away was her loving and bountiful heart and the passion for her family.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her husband of the past 55 years, Francis of Mondovi; children, Doug (Patti Lokken) Weisenbeck of Oklahoma City, Carol (Jeffrey) Bischel of Bloomer, Denise (Mark Gosse) Fitzgerald of Wabasha, Sharon Jenski of Baldwin; grandchildren, Michael Weisenbeck, Katie (Dustin) Peterson, Jason Bischel, Kennedy Fitzgerald and Karen and Mark Janski; great-grandson, Mason Weisenbeck; siblings, Richard (Judy) Schirmacher, Bernard (Ruth) Schirmacher, Beverly Schirmacher, Maurice (Jan) Schirmacher, Donna (Charlie) Munyan, Maxine (Tim) Wagner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn, and infant brother, Ralph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Bosco as celebrant. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel, and again at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the mass. Cremation will follow with committal services scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Monday at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Nancy would be appreciated to the Wisconsin Chapter of the National MS society at www.nationalmssociety.org or a charity of the donor’s choice.
