Goose issue draws crowd to Mondovi City Council meeting

This pair of geese and their young were the only Canada geese visible at Mirror Lake last Thursday afternoon. The City of Mondovi still intends to conduct a goose round-up in cooperation with the USDA sometime after June 15, but if goose numbers remain low the round-up won’t take place, city leaders said last week. The City Council budgeted last fall for a round-up this year, citing public health concerns, after upwards of 300 geese could routinely be found at the lake in 2016.
