This albino buck was mistakenly shot on opening morning of the 2017 gun deer season, Nov. 18, in the Town of Albany north of Mondovi. DNR officials say the hunter saw the brown patch on the buck’s forehead and thought it was legal to shoot. He later turned himself in upon realizing the error.
