Susanne B. Loechler, 76, of Buffalo City, WI, and formerly of Wabasha, MN, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Eagle’s Rest Assisted Living in Pepin, WI.Susanne Barbara Wehner was born August 25, 1949, in Dayton, OH, to Elenor Zottle and Gottfried Wehner. Her family later moved to Minneapolis, where she graduated from Edina High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota. On August 1, 1991, she married David W. Loechler in Wabasha, MN.Sue worked in the real estate industry, spending most of her career as an abstractor for Wabasha County Abstract. Sue had a soft spot for dogs—she loved them all, especially her own: Buster, Bailey, Harley, Axel, Eli, Omar, Beau, and Charlie. She found joy in music, reading, painting, artwork, sunflowers, boating, and Harley rides. She was known for opening her door to everyone, welcoming all without judgment. Sue was a kind-hearted soul who genuinely loved people, cherished good company, and always looked for the positives in life. She is survived by her husband, David, step-children; Ryan (Tami) Loechler and Abbe (Adam) Swenson; step-grandchildren, Noah Loechler and Katie Loechler; her sister, Ute (Humbert “Cecil”) Kleims; her brother, Peter (Rosario) Wehner; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She was preceded in death by her parents.A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Abbott Funeral Home in Wa-basha, MN.A special thank you to Mi-chaela and Jay and their families for their unwavering support and friendship to Dave and Sue over the past several months.As one of Sue’s favorites, Neil Young reminds us, she kept us “searchin’ for a heart of gold.”Services are entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory, Wabasha, MN.
