Cervensel Toftum
Cervensel Toftum, age 94, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wisconsin.
Cervensel was born June 1, 1922, son of William and Selma (Hilstad) Toftum in the town of Hale, Wisconsin. He grew up in and around Hale for most of his life where he farmed and hauled milk.
Cervensel married Joanne Lure April 25, 1953 at the Lower Pigeon Creek Church.
He retired in 1985 and moved to Ettrick and did some work for Green Thumb and ran the recycling center for the town of Ettrick. Cervensel loved the outdoors and did side work to keep busy.
He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, going to Blair to eat and visit with friends, and selling flags through the American Legion.
Cervensel is survived by his two daughters; Jane (Indar) Ramnarine of Mansfield, TX and Cheryl (Raymond) Nesbit of La Crescent, MN, his grandchildren; Stephen Ramnarine of Sachse, TX, Asha (Bill) Carnell of Greer, SC, Anjanie Ramnarine of Arlington, TX, Jason Nesbit of La Crescent, MN, Brittany Nesbit of MN, and Kyler Nesbit of La Crescent.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, and his son, Leslie.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church of Hale, Wisconsin, with Pastor Gail George officiating. Burial followed at the cemetery of the church.
Friends could call from 5 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo and again from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church on Wednesday.
