Adelaide (Ann) Lehnertz
Adelaide (Ann) Lehnertz, 92, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 15, 1923 to Peter and Leona (Siebenaler) Mueller in Oak Ridge, Winona County. She attended Oak Ridge Country School. Ann married Nicholas Lehnertz October 16, 1939 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba. They farmed on Fischer Hill and she lived there until last September when she moved into Green Prairie Place in Plainview. She was a longtime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was active in the Ladies Aid and did the altar duties for years. She had her own upholstery business and never had to advertise, her good work was enough. She loved to cook and her apple pies were legendary! She enjoyed bingo, flowers, garage sales and her favorite thing playing cards, especially 500. She truly loved and enjoyed her family and all the family gatherings.
She is survived by son Robert (Kay) Lehnertz of Plainview, daughter, Darlene (Kermit) Wendt of St. Charles, grandchildren; Lisa (Greg) Owens, Laurie (Jeff) Teig, Brenda Wendt, Robert (Cindy) Lehnertz, Rebecca (Tyler) Miller, Donna Chapel (Jesse) Cuno, Gary Lehnertz and Mike Amburgey, great-grandchildren; Malory, Gavin, Ashley, Parker, Brinley Adelaide, 15 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, sister-in –laws; Liz Mueller, Winnie Mueller, Bev Mueller Babier and many nieces and nephews and a dear friend Rhonda Wingert and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Nick, sisters; Alvina and Harriet, and brothers; Alois, Raymond, Casper, Marvin, and Ralph, great-grandson; Nicholas and step granddaughter; Rhonda Johnson Lehnertz.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 3rd, 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba with Father Kurt Farrell and Father Paul Breza officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, March 2, 5-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
