Visitors get a nice Irish welcome at O'Neill's Pizza Pub in Elgin.
A sign in the entryway reads: Cead Mile Failte - old Irish for "One hundred thousand welcomes."
Another inside reads: "May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends gathered below it never fall out."
Phyllis O'Neill and her daughter, Shannon O'Neill, who own the new restaurant at 50 Main St. East, welcomed friends for years at O'Neill's sites in downtown Rochester and at the Crossroads shopping center in Rochester.
"I hope everybody in town enjoys it," Phyllis said last week. "A lot of people followed us from downtown, and now they're calling and wanting to come to Elgin."
