Cold weather chills Plainview
It’s beginning to feel a lot like a Minnesota Winter.
Individuals across the state—including those in Plainview—experienced a severe, bone-chilling cold front last week, as frigid temperatures dropped below zero for the holidays, forcing Minnesotans to bundle up and to take other corrective measures to stay warm.
According to the Weather Channel, Plainview’s actual temperature dropped to nine degrees below zero on Monday, Jan. 1. With the wind chill accounted for, the temperature was said to be 23 degrees below zero Monday night.
Just in time for the holidays, the cold weather also brought precipitation to the Plainview area. Last week, Thursday, Dec. 21, Plainview received roughly one to three inches of snow—the largest recorded snowfall of the otherwise mild year.
