Gene Tice
Gene Tice, 60, of Burnsville, MN, a former Rochester resident, died suddenly Friday, March 12, 2016 in his sleep in Burnsville, MN.
Gene was born December 7, 1955 to Ralph and Virginia (Roach) Tice in Newburg New York and later moved to Rochester MN. Gene attended and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1973.
Gene enlisted in the US Air Force in 1973 right out of High School and was a missile mechanic stationed in Rapid City SD. In 1976 he married Rebecca Amundson in Rochester and later divorced. Gene worked at IBM in Rochester as an electronics technician, later moving to Eagan, MN and worked for SEAGATE in Bloomington .
Gene traveled to many countries for work purposes and was working in Malaysia when he met Dawn Lee in 1996. They were married in February 1997 in Eagan MN. they lived in Burnsville, and later divorced. Gene loved to work on computers and repair electronics equipment. He enjoyed travel, and spending time walking his dogs, he loved watching football and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by one daughter, Brina Tice and granddaughter Allyson, of Apple Valley MN. His mother, Virginia Tice of New Braunfels, TX. brothers: Bill (Sharon) Tice of Plainview, Andrew of New Braunfels, TX. Sisters: Ginger Tice, Julie Tice, Patty (James) Tanksley, and Linda (Shawn) Gould, all of New Braunfels, TX. and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Ralph, sister Nancy, brother Joe, a nephew, and grandparents Ted and Virginia Klassen formally from Plainview, MN.
Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Mary Mother of the Church in Burnsville, with full military burial rights at Fort Snelling cemetery in Bloomington, MN.
