Hunter Flaxbeard

Hunter Wayne Flaxbeard, age 14, of Kellogg died on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at St Mary’s Hospital following an accident in Wabasha County.
Hunter was born on July 27, 2008 in Ohio and was first welcomed into the Flaxbeard family at the age of 5. Along with his siblings Daniel, Cody and Sasha and was blessed with a loving family to call his own. He was adopted on April 25, 2016. Hunter was currently an eighth grader at St. John’s Lutheran School in Lake City.
Hunter was a kind and compassionate young man. He was full of adventure and new ideas. He loved to sit and have conversations with whoever would engage in his interests. He was very helpful and did his best to please everyone. Hunter was always busy doing something, whether it was inside or outside. He has many animals he cared for at his home. He loved to draw, dig holes outside, tinker with just about anything and loved to put Legos together. He was so proud of his accomplishments.
Hunter had a love for God. He was a member of Church of Christ in Plainview. He was very passionate about church, youth group activities and Christian music. He also attended Pine Haven Bible Camp near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
True to his nature, he gave the gift of life to many by being an organ and tissue donor. This is something he would be proud of! Hunter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and the donor recipients he never met.
Hunter is lovingly survived by his parents: Clifford and Lori of Kellogg, his siblings: Suzanne (Brian) Flies of Plainview, Mary Rother of Rochester, James Hiebert of Rochester, Joshua Flaxbeard of Crookston, MN, Cody Flaxbeard and Sasha Flaxbeard, both of Kellogg. He is further survived by his maternal grandmother: Kathleen Haley of Sumner, TX and paternal grandmother: Connie Taylor of Coon Rapids, MN. Biological grandparents Larry and Jeani Mytten: He will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews: Rowan and Reed Flies, Peyton Tlougan. Charlee Bonach, Andee and Bailee Flaxbeard: Along with many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: William Haley and Clifford Flaxbeard, Sr. and his brother Daniel Davis (Flaxbeard).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Christ in Plainview with Pastor Bob Blanshan officiating. Casket bearers will be Gabriel Haley, Vincent Adams, David Kienitz, Kyle Hanson, Alex Hanson and Matt Hanson. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Peyton Tlougan, Rowan Flies, Reed Flies. Charles Flaxbeard, Andee Flaxbeard, Bailee Flaxbeard and Charlee Bonach.
Visitation will be held at the Schad and Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10-11 a.m.
Schad and Zabel Funeral Home of Plainview is assisting the family with arrangements.
