Janice Dorothy Halverson

Janice Dorothy Halverson, 83, of Kellogg, went home to our Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the home of her daughter in rural Stewartville. She was born on December 21, 1941, in Lake City, MN, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy Sprick. Janice attended school in Lake City and graduated from Wabasha High School. She was united in marriage to Patrick Halverson on March 12, 1960, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. This marriage was blessed with four children.
Jan loved to cook and bake. She worked at the Wabasha – Kellogg School in the kitchen. She baked at the Anderson House in Wabasha, MN, and at the Chickadee Cottage in Lake City, MN. She also worked at the Kellogg Grocery Store, and at Wescott Orchard in Elgin, MN.
Jan enjoyed cooking, dancing, camping, and playing cards. Jan and Pat enjoyed spending the winters down south. She also enjoyed the Kellogg Watermelon Festival and all the people that came to her house. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Everyone knows how much she enjoyed planting flowers around her house.
Janice is survived by her four children, Pat (Sue) Halverson of Kellogg, Sue (Les) Radcliffe of Stewartville, Steve (Paula) Halverson of Campton, Kentucky, and Randy Halverson of Kellogg; three grandson, Justin (Laura) Tibor of Eyota, Eric (Dreena) Tibor of Plainview, and Michael (Samantha) Halverson of Kellogg; five great-grandchildren, Annalise and Maverick Tibor of Plainview, Mya and Drake Tibor of Eyota, and Carson Halverson of Kellogg; two step-grandchildren, Emily and Gus Radcliffe; and two step-great-grandchildren, Miriam and Sadie Radcliffe; one sister, Arlys (Gene) Schimdt of Zumbro Falls, and two brothers, Duane (JoAnn) Sprick and Al (Donna) Sprick both of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Gary and son-in-law Ron Tibor.
She will be greatly missed by family and all who know her.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church in Wabasha, with Pastor David Knox officiating. The burial will follow the service at Greenfield Cemetery in Kellogg. Friends and family may visit on Friday, January 3, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
